DOUBLE BLOCK AND BLEED PLUGS

DOUBLE BLOCK AND BLEED PLUGS AVAILABLE IN SIZES TO 240″ ( 20′ ) AND TO PRESSURES OF 15000 PSIG (1000 BAR).

The double block and bleed plugs are primarily used in the petroleum industry to isolate combustible gases and vapors from hot work areas on piping systems when doing welding modifications and repairs to the system.
The DBB plugs utilize a dual seal with a port between them to either vent off any combustible gases and vapor leakage past the first seal, or to pressurize this annual space with water to further isolate the combustible gases or for hydro testing.
The double block and bleed plugs also can be used to test the weld joint prior to putting the system back into service, eliminating the necessity of testing the whole system.

Materials of construction of the pipe plug body are typically “lightweight” corrosion resistant aluminum. If your requirements need another material we can provide:
